Here brilliant young winemaker Harald Schraffl crafts superb fruit sources - with some of the members vineyards being well over the century-old mark and tended with an intense pride. Here is the heartland of the tight and minerally style of Italian Pinot Grigio, with its notes of ice-cold pear, spice and flowers and a palate of icy, almost severe structure and tang. As usual for PG, this is quite a good allround dry white, but these Alto Adiges do revel in particular matching; white, fresh cheeses, raw, white and freshwater fish being notable.
